Nau mai, haere mai, and a very warm welcome to Lower Moutere School, a vibrant learning community nestled between the rural beauty of the Moutere Valley and the Mariri coastal region. 

As a school catering for children from Year 1 through to Year 8, we take immense pride in providing a "first-class" educational journey that supports our 200–230 students as they grow from their first days of school into confident young leaders. Our ten innovative learning spaces are led by a committed and passionate staff who balance a strong foundation in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics with rich, hands-on opportunities in the Arts, Sciences, and Physical Education. 

We are truly "spoilt for green space," with expansive, tree-enclosed fields that serve as a natural extension of our classrooms, fostering both competitive sport and creative play. 

Guided by our core value of Respect—for ourselves, for others, and for our environment—we work in close partnership with our whānau and local marae to ensure every child feels a deep sense of belonging and identity.
